The New Orleans Saints have re-signed quarterback, Jameis Winston on a one-year deal worth $12M. It’s fair to say that the former 1st overall pick has yet to live up to expectations. Winston played the first 5 seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In those 5 seasons, he had a total of 19,737 passing yards, 121 passing touchdowns, 88 interceptions and an average passer rating of 86.9.

Last offseason, Winston signed a 1 year deal with the New Orleans Saints to be the backup to Drew Brees. Winston appeared in 4 games for the Saints in 2020, however he didn’t start in any of them. He had a total of 11 pass attempts, completing 7 of them for 75 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. With Drew Brees recently announcing his retirement, Winston now has a chance to prove that he can be the Saints quarterback for many years to come.
